Indications:
For the management of primary hypoadrenocorticism (Addison's disease) in dogs, to replace deficient mineralocorticoid activity, specifically aldosterone.
Mechanism of Action:
Binds to mineralocorticoid receptors in renal distal tubules, promoting sodium retention and potassium excretion, thereby restoring electrolyte and fluid balance.
Dosage Form & Strength:
Each tablet contains Fludrocor tisone Acetate 0.1 mg.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with systemic fungal infections, hypertension, or severe cardiac disease.
Warnings:
Monitor serum electrolytes (sodium, potassium), blood pressure, and renal function periodically. Risk of sodium retention and hypertension with overdose.
Storage:
Store at controlled room temperature (15-30°C), protect from light and moisture.
